Happy Anniversary!

Happy 7 years to us!!! Today is our anniversary!! :) Makayla's end of the year zoo day was today. Her whole school was there and I made Adam come with us so we could spend some time together. He met us there and we took the girls all over the zoo. It was so fun! Her preschool gave her a paper to get stamps on at some different animals and she loved that! There weren't teachers at a couple of the animals (at first) so Adam drew the animals in the little box for her. He's such a good daddy. :) Then later we found the teachers and M got her stamps, too!

To exit the zoo you have to go through the gift shop and Makayla wanted this little lizard, so I got her one. It was two bucks! We got Addi one, too. :D

In other semi-related news, Addison is a little copycat! We were driving home from the zoo today and Makayla was 'feeding' her little lizard and Addison started 'feeding' her bear and Woofy (wolf)! It was too precious.

We ate lunch and then went outside to blow bubbles. Makayla was taking her wand and hitting the bubbles that were on the grass with it. Addison started doing the same thing! I love seeing her grow and learn things from her big sister.

Tonight, Adam and I went to Benihana for dinner. We each got a $30 gift certificate for our birthdays so our meal was totally FREE! It was glorious. The food was SO good and the people we sat with were totally fun. One of the couples at our table was celebrating their anniversary, too...36 years today!! So awesome.

After that, we headed to the movie theater to see The Avengers. It was amazing!! I told Adam I want to go see it again because it was THAT good.

All in all, it was a fabulous 7th anniversary for us. I love just spending time with my husband and our beautiful children. I am so blessed.

Makayla's First Day of Preschool.

Makayla had her first day of preschool today!! She picked out her own outfit and she did a great job! I told her I wanted to put her hair up in a pony tail and she said, "Okay, I'll go get two!" Then she came running back with all of her stuff and said, "I want two ponytails today!" So, we did two ponytails and she looked beyond precious!

We have been talking about preschool around here for quite some time. Every time we pass her school, she yells out, "There's my preschool!" She has been obsessed with going and today was finally the big day!

We were all out the door and got there right on time. Daddy went with us, too!! We posed for a few pictures before we left the house. This is a big day, people!

So, we took her into class and I wanted her to say hi to her teachers, but as soon as we walked in, she said, "I want to go play with toys." :)

I asked her to give me a big hug and kiss and that's the moment I started to get teary eyed. My baby is all grown up and going to school!! EEK!!

Anyway, Addi, Emma (our friend's daughter) and I came home and hung out for two hours. I got some laundry done while the girls followed me around and cried. Not the whole time, but part of the time. :) Then, it was time to go get Makayla!

She was ready to go as soon as we got there, but she said she had a good time! When we got in the car, I asked her what she did. This is how the conversation went:

M: "Well, the kids played with me, then we had circle time, then we ate, then we read and then the parents came!"

Me: "What did you do during circle time?

M: "I can't tell you!"

Me: "What did you eat?"

M: "Cars." Ensuing laughter afterwards...

Me: "You ate cars for a snack?!"

M: "Like crackers! Not the ones that you drive! That's silly!!"

Both of us cracking up. End scene. :)

She's precious. And I can't believe how big she is! Gah, my baby is in preschool!!

Slacking!!

I have really been slacking in the blog department lately. My bust.

I never posted Addison's 8 month updates, so that will be at the end of this post. Yeah, laziness. Whatevs.

I've had a lot on my mind lately. Things are changing. I've got a lot to pray about, especially with the new developments that have gone on the past couple days.

Our house got started on Monday!! They dug out the basement, so that's exciting! It's been raining for the past few days and then last night, it snowed again! What the hey?! So, as far as I know, our house building has been put on hold until the snow is gone.

Signed Makayla up for preschool yesterday!! SO excited. It's a super cute place inside of a church. It's not affiliated with the church, though. No biggie. She'll be going two days a week, starting in September. I hope she loves it!!

Adam has been gone this whole week. Boo. So, my mom came and stayed with me from Tuesday night until this morning. It was really nice to have her here to help with the girls and keep me company. I don't like to stay alone when Adam is gone, so it was really nice. Thanks for all your help, Mom! You're the greatest!! I also got to go to Target and the post office by myself and went to the preschool by myself, too. That's always a blessing. I love my kids, but sometimes, I just need a little break. :)

I'm sure other things have happened since my last post, but I can't remember. :/ I keep thinking I can't post until I post my old stuff, like Addi's 8 month update, so then I get even more behind. And then when I think about blogging, it feels more like a chore, so I don't want to do it. So, I'm over whatever I forgot and let's move forward!!

Addison's 8 month update: 

Addison claps a few times and then throws her arms straight up in the air. So cute!

She says, 'Da' over and over again. She also says 'Mama'!!!!

I blow her hair and she laughs and laughs. Every time.

She grabs Puffs on her own and will sometimes get them in her mouth. And sometimes not.

She loves her Biter Biscuits.

She can hold her sippy cup on her own, get it to her mouth and then take a drink by herself!!

Loves to play peek a boo.

She ate carrots for the first time-Feb. 11th

Addison got up on all fours on-Feb. 14th

She said Mama for the first time-Feb. 15th

She is the cutest and sweetest baby I have ever seen. She screams when I leave the room and she screams when other people hold her if she can't see me.

She loves her sister. LOVES.

I'm sure there is more, but I can't always remember everything. She's so fun. And her big sister is just as amazing.

Makayla says her ABC's, but she's done that for a long time...at least a month. She can recognize every single letter and anytime she sees letters, she spells things out. She'll go from right to left sometimes, but we're working on getting her to read it the right way.

She knows all of her numbers, too, but that's been for a while now.

We're learning about seasons right now. Summer is her favorite because she goes swimming and plays at the park. :)

My family is amazing. I am overwhelmingly blessed and I take it for granted way more than I should. The good Lord has blessed me. And you. Immensely. So enjoy it. And then consider what you can do to help others. <3
