2011 Recap, Part 2.

Read Part 1 here.

July 2011

We had a tumor scare with Addison. She's fine, no worries. And Praise God!!

Had our Tastefully Simple party to raise money for our adoption.

Got an anonymous donation in the mail AND a stranger donated to us online! Woo! It was amazing because I was having a rough time with the whole fundraising thing. What a way for God to bless our socks off!

Had our last home study appointments and waiting on it to be done!

My mom turned 60!

August 2011

We got our finalized home study!! YES!!

Sent in our paperwork to USCIS for our fingerprints.

Got crazy busy crafting. Pretty sure I was trying to keep my mind off waiting for the last thing for our dossier. :)

Felt an earthquake in Ohio!

Addison pulled herself up for the first time!!! :D

September 2011

Got a letter from USCIS saying that we have an appointment for our fingerprints, September 23rd!

Went early to get our fingerprints and they took us! September 9th!

Got our I-171H on September 29th...just 6 days after our appointment was supposed to be! :D

Addison took her first assisted steps this month!

Makayla started preschool and she loves it!

October 2011

We sent in our dossier to AWAA on October 1st!

We are DTE, October 14th, 2011!!!!! SO exciting!!

Adam and I took a trip to Maryland so that he could run in a Zombie 5K to raise money for our adoption. We also got to visit our friends, Rusty and Janelle, too!!!

Makayla had her first field trip!

Addison stood on her own!!

November 2011

It's Adoption Awareness Month!

We are One Month DTE! Only a gazillion more to go! :)

Wrote 30 Day of Being Thankful. It was fun to reflect on all the things I'm thankful for.

We had our online raffle to raise money for our adoption!

December 2011

We are Two Months DTE!! WOO!!!

My sweet baby girl turns 18 months old! Can't believe it!!

My other sweet baby girl turns 4 years old! I can't believe it, either!!

We switched the girls' car seats, so M has a booster and Addi has a bigger rear facing car seat, which is M's old one. Exciting times!

Makayla had a program at preschool for Christmas. It was adorable.

We had a beautiful Christmas and wrapped up an amazing year.

So thankful that God has changed my life and made me so passionate about orphans in Africa, Ethiopia specifically. It has been such an honor and a blessing to watch the Lord work in our lives this year. I have been refined in ways I didn't know I could be. I've been changed and moved by something so much bigger than myself. My eyes have been opened to a country I barely knew existed. And I could not be more thankful. I am so blessed that the Lord chose US for this journey. He's going to do big things in 2012. And I want Him to get all the glory!
