Quick Update

So I'm pretty sure I've lost all my readers since I have hardly been on this thing since being in Ohio. I still read all of your blogs, though, so leave me a comment so I know you still love me! :)

Things are going well, but I am ready to get back to California. I made my to do list for when I get home and it's already very, very long. Bummer.

Adam's going to take some time off when I get home (in October) so hopefully we can go do something fun as a family! Haven't done that in a while!! He really misses me and Makayla, too.

Speaking of Little Miss, she pulled herself up on the coffee table 3 times yesterday! Can you believe that? 8 months and already pulling herself up! She rocks this baby business!!!

When we get home, Makayla is going to have to cry it out during the middle of the night because this Mama is tired! She still gets up two times a night and I cannot handle it anymore and I know she doesn't really need to eat because she nurses 4-5 times during the day AND gets 3 meals of baby food, too!

So, I'm still confused about what foods I should give to her. If she's had the baby food of a food, she doesn't need to wait 5 days in between new foods, right? Like if she's had applesauce, she doesn't need to wait of she eats apples, yeah? Help me out here, people!

I really have so much I need to do when I get home, it's crazy. I hope my life can get back to normal when I get back home. I've been living out of suitcases for far too long now and I've been going to too many different houses, having to set up Makayla's little room everywhere...sleeping on floors and couches...getting woken up in the middle of the night by people that are not my baby...doing laundry on random days....the list goes on. But, all in all, it's been really nice for Makayla to get to meet people that wouldn't come out to California.

Well, that's all for now. I'm exhausted and I have blogs to read and Facebooks to see. :D

Holy long trip batman!!

That must be rough living out of a suitcase. I can barely handle that for a week!

Awesome on the pulling up!! It is so much fun now that they are mobile!

The food department..hmm well every baby is different as you know. If she has had applesauce she can totally have apples. It can be confusing but just try and relax and go with your gut. Sophia is pretty much all on 'adult'food now. I still spoon feed her yogurt and runny stuff but she mostly eats everything by hand now. You will know when she is ready for different textures etc. Try giving her veggie puffs and little pieces of food and see if she chews or if she gags. Maybe she is already doing that. I am sure you are doing just finw with feeding her!! But I know its hard not to worry!

Ok this was a really long comment. Hurry up and get home, so you can blog again! :)

Wow, that is a long trip and with a little baby; good for you!

If she has had applesauce then she can totally have apples if she is ready for them (not gagging). The biggest things I would be careful of are allergens like berries, nuts, egg whites, things like that.

I can totally relate to the not sleeping through the night thing, Jack didn't for the longest time.

Hang in there with the food. If they have it in baby food then I say they can have reguar. Except some fruit they need to be older to eat raw and I am pretty sure unless strawberry is cooked to a certain temp they aren't supposed to have it raw too early.

do you ever go to http://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/? very helpful

Hey! Good to hear from you again.

So. Baby food. Mia just turned 6 months, and we already have her on 2nd foods. She is doing great. Once she tried everything once, she was good to go. I give her formula (I can't breast feed), fruit and cereal for breakfast. She gets cereal and formula for lunch, and then she has cereal, formula and veggies for dinner. For snacks, she gets formula/apple juice and some gramcrackers. I usually switch up her fruit and veggies so she gets a variety and learns to like them all. She is doing really well on that, and my doctor encourages it.

I would call your doctor and see, but at this point they are supposed to start moving away for formula/breast milk being their only source of nutrition. So my doctor says. :)

Hope that helps!
