That's right. Makayla is 6 months old today!
I cannot believe that it has been that long since I gave birth to her. It seems like only yesterday.

There are so many things I have learned from my daughter. The biggest one being patience. I am not a patient person. If I want something, I want it now. Not 10 minutes from now. Not tomorrow. Now.

With Makayla, I am patient. Not always, but I have made massive strides. I have to be exceptionally patient during nursing times. She likes to play around and hang out for a while and my mind tends to wander to other things I need to get done or other things I want to do. Then, (most of the time) I get back to reality and realize that these moments will not last forever.

She has also taught me how to love. I mean I think I knew how to before, but this is such a different kind of love. She's part me and part Adam and that is truly amazing. My heart has grown tremendous sizes for her. And there's room to grow, too!

Makayla has taught me how to laugh harder than I ever imagined possible. She makes me smile at the simplest things. I walk around smiling all day long just so I can see her smile. I love waiting for her reaction to whatever I do.

I absolutely love making her laugh! Any way I can, I do. Her laugh is infectious and it touches my heart every time. Every time.

She has also taught me to take life slower. To not worry about the little things. It really doesn't matter if the kitchen is clean or if the floor is vaccumed. Just spend time with my baby. That's all I need to do. She enjoys me so much. She loves figuring out new things and I adore watching her figure them out. She's always so proud of herself when she can figure out how to do something new. Like rolling over. She was one proud little baby that day! And I one very proud Mommy!!

Needless to say, I love my baby girl. She is perfect. She has so many more things to teach me and I cannot wait to learn. I cannot wait to see what kind of little girl she is going to turn out to be and then a young woman. Oh wow. I'm getting teary eyed just thinking about it. It will be one amazing journey. And I am ready.

Here are some photos for your viewing pleasure.

Christmas Eve. Still pregnant.

Finally in the hospital! Yay! Christmas Day.

The day after she was born. So adorable!

Taken just a few days ago. Eating baby food. How'd we come this far?!
Playing around!
Sleeping holding onto the bumper, sucking her thumb and her foot sticking out of her blanket. Taken today during naptime.
Taken today before we went to her 6 month check up. She got her shots today! Poor thing. :(

I love her like I have never loved anyone else. She is simply amazing.

Can I just tell you how COOL I think it is that Makayla's birthday is Christmas day??? There is something so magical about Christmas to me...it's just a feeling in the air. And then to couple that with the birth of your baby?? Ohhh!!! You are so lucky!

And I love the way you say in your profile that you will always make it special for her.

Nice to "meet" you and your beautiful family!
